THE CHRISTIAN VERSION OF THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

On the first day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: salvation full and free.

On the second day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the third day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: Peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the fourth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: love for all men, Peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the fifth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the sixth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me; power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the seventh day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the eighth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the ninth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the tenth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the eleventh day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a thousand tongues to sing, streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

On the twelfth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: eternity to praise, a thousand tongues to sing, streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas & out on the ranch

           The pond was froze over & so was the branch.

The snow was piled up, belly-deep to a mule.

The kids were all home on vacation from school,

And happier young folks you never did see-

Just all sprawled around a-watchin' TV.

Then suddenly, some time around 8 o'clock,

There came a surprise that gave them a shock!

The power went off, the TV went dead!

When Grandpa came in from out in the shed

With an armload of wood, the house was all dark.

"Just what I expected," they heard him remark.

"Them power line wires must be down from the snow.

Seems sorter like times on the ranch long ago."

"I'll hunt up some candles," said Mom. "With their light,

And the fireplace, I reckon we'll make out all right."

The teen-agers all seemed enveloped in gloom.

Then Grandpa came back from a trip to his room,

Uncased his old fiddle & started to play

That old Christmas song about bells on a sleigh.

Mom started to sing, & 1st thing they knew

Both Pop & the kids were all singing it, too.

They sang Christmas carols, they sang "Holy Night,"

Their eyes all a-shine in the ruddy firelight.

They played some charades Mom recalled from her youth,

And Pop read a passage from God's Book of Truth.

They stayed up till midnight-and, would you believe,

The youngsters agreed 'twas a fine Christmas Eve.

Grandpa rose early, some time before dawn;

And when the kids wakened, the power was on..

"The power company sure got the line repaired quick,"

Said Grandpa - & no one suspected his trick.

Last night, for the sake of some old-fashioned fun,

He had pulled the main switch - that old Son-of-a-Gun!

TRUCKER'S PRAYER

Dear God above bless this truck I drive

And help me keep someone alive

Be my mortal sight this day

On streets where little children play

Bless my helper fast asleep

When the night is long and deep

And keep my cargo safe and sound

Through the hours big and round

Make my judgment sound as steel

And be my hands upon the wheel

Bless the traveler going past

And teach him not to go so fast

Give me the strength for every trip

So I may care for what they ship

And make me mindful every mile

That life is just a little while

Pray for my husband every day that he is safe traveling to work especially now in his new F150 Black Truck.

THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS IN GREEN AND RED M&M'S

As you hold these candies in your hand and turn them, you will see The M becomes a W, an E, and then a 3.  They tell the Christmas Story, it's one I'm sure you know.  It took place in a stable a long, long time ago.  the E is for the East where the star shone so bright.  The M is for the Manger where baby Jesus slept that night.  The 3 is for the Wiseman bearing gifts when they came.  W is for Worship, Hallelujah, Praise His name.  So, as you eat these candies or share with your friends, Remember the meaning of Christmas.  It's a love story that never ends.

 

REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUP FUDGE

INGREDIENTS:
20 Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures, roughly chopped
2 cups brown sugar
2 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1 1/4 creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:
1.  Line an 8 x 8 pan with saran wrap so that it will be easy to lift the fudge out of the pan.
2.  In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to a rolling boil, then cook for exactly 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
3.  Stir in peanut butter and mix to combine.  Then add in vanilla extract.
4.  Transfer the mixture to the bowl of your mixer. Add in sifted confectioners sugar, one cup at a time, mixing between adding more. After you've added all of the confectioners sugar, mix well! The mixture is going to be really thick.
5.  Press the mixture into the prepared dish. Sprinkle chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures over the fudge and gently press them down.
6.  Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour, or until firm, then use the saran wrap as handles to lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into small squares.
